Lanka Dinakar , Chairman of the Twenty Principles Programme Implementation, Vizianagaram District, reviewed the progress of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and projects under the auspices of the District Collector:
👉 District Collector Dr. B. R. Ambedkar , Nellimarla MLA Smt. Lokam Naga Madhavi , Vizianagaram MLA Smt. Aditi Gajapathi , Mark Fed Chairman Karrothu Bangarraju , East Kapu Corporation Chairperson Palavalasa Yashaswini , RTC Regional Chairman Dunnu Dora , CPO P. Balaji and other district officials were present.
# ️⃣ Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal is Vikasit Bharat 2047 – Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s aspiration is Swarnandhra 2047 Only by working towards the goal will Vizianagaram district overcome the current challenges and develop successfully.
# ️⃣ Vizianagaram district is a highly rural agriculture-based region.
While 520,000 people depend on agriculture for their livelihood, 460,000 of them cultivate less than a hectare of land.
# ️⃣ The per capita income of the state is 2.43 thousand, while that of the district is less than 1.50 lakh.
Industrialization is very low , with 5.94 lakh people working as employment-guaranteed laborers .
# ️⃣ The literacy rate in the district is just under 60 percent , much lower than the state average.
# ️⃣ There is a need to increase per capita income by increasing education and industrialization for more people in the district.
# ️⃣ A review was held with the District Collector and officials on the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes such as Employment Guarantee Scheme , Jal Jeevan Mission , Gramin Sadak Yojana , Lak Pati Didi , Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana , PM Surya Ghar , Kusum , PM Awas Yojana , AMRUT , utilization of backward districts development funds , development of STs, as well as Bhogapuram Greenfield Airport , tourism sector and industrialization development , progress of Central Tribal University and Vizianagaram urban issues.
Rural development has been hampered due to non-spending on the material component of the employment guarantee for the last 5 years , and the authorities have been reminded of their responsibility to get out of that situation.
# ️⃣ The district has not been able to achieve the targets set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to the Jal Jeevan Mission working without long-term water availability for the last 5 years.
# ️⃣ Under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has decided to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission with a revised DPR with the aim of providing safe drinking water through taps to every family in every village with long-term water resources . The district is likely to spend more than 2 thousand crores . The officials have been instructed to make good use of the resources, unlike the last 5 years.
# ️⃣ It has been brought to the attention of the authorities that out of the target of 73.54 kilometers of roads being constructed in villages under the ” Gramin Sadak Yojana ” , only two kilometers have been completed so far. The need for these works to be completed at an accelerated pace has been brought to the notice of the authorities.
Work is underway in the district under PM Janman for the development of 15.60 km of roads in ST colonies at an estimated cost of Rs. 16.30 crores.
# ️⃣ With the aim of making women in self-service groups in the district millionaires, a target of 83,291 “Lak Pati Didis” has been set , but only 28,950 have been identified so far . It has been directed to achieve the target at the earliest.
Out of a total of 81,999 houses provided in the district under PMAY , 46,576 have been completed and the beneficiaries are facing difficulties due to lack of adequate infrastructure facilities . The authorities have been directed to take immediate steps for the provision of infrastructure facilities .
# ️⃣ Out of 6,368 Tidco houses , 5,024 were completed but only 3,776 beneficiaries were provided with them. It was questioned why the remaining 1248 beneficiaries did not take up the completed houses.
# ️⃣ The progress of the 24,934 NTR houses given to the poor before 2019 has been questioned , and anger has been expressed that the lives of the poor have been played with by not completing these for the last 5 years.
# ️⃣ While Rs 25.63 crores have been allocated under AMRUT 1.0 for Vizianagaram Corporation for the supply of safe drinking water to every household in the cities , and the construction of STP with a capacity of 5 million liters of water per day has been undertaken, officials say that only 54% of the work has been completed so far , now another Rs 63 crores have been sanctioned under AMRUT 2.0 . The responsibility of utilizing these funds lies with the concerned authority.
# ️⃣ Under AMRUT 2.0 , Rs 5.50 crores have been allocated to Bobbili , Rs 8.90 crores to Rajam and Rs 4.22 crores to Nelimarla municipalities.
# ️⃣ The implementation of the PM Surya Ghar scheme should be accelerated and the officials have been instructed to link up with the self-service groups and achieve the set targets.
# ️⃣ Out of 1,148 projects sanctioned under National Gokul Mission , 886 projects have been started and only 30 projects have been completed. This scheme will help farm-dependent families generate additional income through milk production.
# ️⃣ The special funds announced by the Centre for the development of backward districts have been used to start 100 works with Rs 20 crore , while 93 works have been completed with Rs 17.60 crore , and the remaining works are being carried out with another Rs 4.4 crore, according to the officials’ report . It has been requested that public representatives should inspect the works through field visits .
# ️⃣ 1381 works have been started with a cost of Rs 188 crore for the creation of infrastructure , while 933 works have been completed with a cost of Rs 103 crore , and 447 works are underway with a cost of Rs 30 crore , according to the officials’ report . It has been requested that public representatives should inspect the works through field visits .
# ️⃣ With the development of industrial and tourism sectors based on Bhogapuram Airport, the shape of Vizianagaram district is likely to change , with job and employment opportunities, the per capita income of the people is likely to increase and the livelihoods of the people are likely to change.
# ️⃣ People should be made aware so that at least one cottage or small industry can be established from every household .
The authorities should focus on the skill development of the people of the district and prepare a plan to transform the Central Tribal University into a quality skill development center.
