Santhakaviti , Vizianagaram District , December 30: Villager and former President of the United Andhra Pradesh Press Academy, Sri Adapaka Satya Rao, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thanks on behalf of the people of the village to local legislators Sri Kondru Murali Mohan and Member of Parliament Sri Kalisetty Appalanaidu , who immediately visited the victims of the horrific fire that broke out on Saturday night in Siripuram village of Santhakaviti mandal in the district and assured them that they would not only provide immediate financial assistance but also ensure that they receive full support from the government. He also thanked State Education Minister Sri Nara Lokesh , who learned about the information through the media and instructed them to provide immediate assistance .
He thanked Sarpanch Sri Dola Tirupati Rao , former Sarpanch representative Sri Moyya Narayappadu Mastaru , other elders , employees , youth , fire personnel , and broadcast / press personnel for their swift response , helping people in extinguishing the fires, and providing financial assistance, essential items, clothing, and other supplies.
In a fire that broke out on Saturday night in Padmara Street, 12 houses belonging to the poor were completely reduced to ashes , while lakhs of rupees of cash, hard-earned savings for the marriage of a daughter , and all the belongings and equipment in all the houses were burnt to ashes, said Sri Satya Rao in a statement.
Not only did they try to put out the fire with the coordination of the village elders , but they were also able to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas by quickly bringing in personnel with fire extinguishers. In addition , they provided food, clothes , other essential items , and cooking utensils to the affected families , and collected donations from more than three lakh donors for those whose money was burned at the wedding house, he said.Sri Satya Rao said that on the instructions of Education Minister Lokesh, the next morning, Member of Parliament Appalanaidu and MLA Murali Mohan came and personally provided financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to the victims and Rs. 3 lakhs to the wedding house. He said that they assured that they would work to get houses and other assistance from the government immediately.
